Mission Le Mans ft Lord Drayson on Sky Sports this week!
23rd January 2012
Following on from the phenomenally successful launch of the Lola-Drayson B12/69EV electric-powered LMP racing car by Drayson Racing Technologies at the MIA’s Low Carbon Racing Conference and Autosport 2012 last week, Sky Sports is broadcasting Mission Le Mans, which follows project pioneer Lord Drayson as he sets out to fulfil his dream of completing Le Mans.
Four years’ ago Lord Drayson took a leave of absence from Government to race in the American Le Mans Series in the United States. A successful season racing to Le Mans rules gained him access to the Le Mans 24 Hours endurance race, despite having sight in only one eye. On this first attempt however, his GT car broke down with just two hours to go.
Mission Le Mans follows Lord Drayson on his second attempt to complete one of motorsports toughest events in a new Le Mans Lola prototype car.
The 90-minute documentary will be broadcast on Tuesday and Wednesday this week as follows:

Lord Drayson started motor racing in 2004. In 2007, he competed in the British GT sportscar championship, racing a unique bio-ethanol fuelled Aston Martin DBRS9, achieving a historic first win for a bio-fuelled race car, and coming second overall in the British championship. Since 2009, he has competed in the American, European and Asian Le Mans Championships, and driven at Le Mans, Sebring and in the Petit Le Mans endurance races.
